Jim Sullivan

Jim Sullivan has owned and operated Fishermans Corner since 1984. Under his guidance, the business has grown from a humble Tackle Store into the Fishing Tackle Destination that it is today. Jim has been fishing the Bay’s waters since the late 70’s, and possesses a wealth of knowledge on the local scene. Over the years he has fished such diverse waters from the top end to the Coral Sea and Pacific Islands. Jim is just as happy chasing Winter Whiting or the mighty Barramundi, and everything in-between.

Wayne Lack

Wayne is a member of a well known 4th generation local fishing family, with his grandfather, Jacob Lack, being a pioneer of tourism in the early history of Hervey Bay. As a youngster Wayne was a keen angler and could always be found fishing the Urangan Pier on weekends and school holidays, if he wasn’t out fishing the local reefs with his father. A career in the finance industry has taken Wayne to many locations throughout Queensland, however his love of the lifestyle and great fishing in Hervey Bay has always been a great reason to return to our beautiful city. Wayne admits the fishing is not what it used to be 40 years ago, as increased boating traffic and improvements in electronic technology have taken their toll. Wayne maintains these days it’s a matter of fishing smarter, not harder to catch a feed. The opportunity to work in Hervey Bay’s premier fishing tackle store has added a new chapter to Wayne’s life and he is only too pleased to share his knowledge of the local area with our customers.

Jason Edmonds

Jason came aboard with Fishermans Corner mid 2008 after a 5 year stint in another local tackle store. Originally from the bush, Jason has been a fishing fanatic all his life and has developed a very broad knowledge of fishing techniques and all things piscatorial.

After traveling and fishing around Austalia in the late 90′s he settled in Hervey Bay due to its diverse range of fishing options and fantastic climate. A couple of years spent working on local charter boats and offshore commercial vessels, together with every possible spare moment spent on the water chasing fish has developed a great understanding of our local waters and fishing options.

He most enjoys lure fishing for barra and jacks, working soft plastics or livebaiting for reef fish like coral trout, reds, blueys or snapper and tangling with the big impoundment barra of both Monduran and Awoonga.

Jason is our reel servicing specialist, who prides himself on quality workmanship. Come in with all your reel servicing enquiries, Jason will only be too happy to point you in the right direction.

Steve Bell

Steve moved to Hervey Bay at the beginning of 2008, he had previously worked in a well known tackle store in Caboolture, north of Brisbane.

Steve has many years experience fishing and crabbing in the estuaries of Moreton Bay, Pumicestone Passage, the reefs of Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast.

While relatively new to the area, Steve is very keen to pass on any knowledge he has and looks forward to fishing the fantastic Fraser coastline.

TIM GUIVER

Pic to Come

We had to hide his face, hence no picture. Tim looks much younger than his years, but has a wealth of experience, especially with catching all things fishy using soft plastics.  You will often see him roaming the Bay’s waters
